NYC

We were in NYC last weekend and had the time of our lives. I sometimes wonder why small town people are so scared of cities. They are so much fun to navigate and explore. We took the subway almost everywhere and it was SO easy to get around. It was terribly COLD though! I forgot to take a hat, luckily UO still had some on their racks.

We spent Friday evening having dinner with people in Toby's book coop. The one guy grew up in Austria, the other guy lived in Venezuela until he was 18, and his girlfriend was from Tokyo. It was insane to be eating dinner with such an ethnically diverse group of people at one table.

The food was amazing. In Chelsea we ate at some organic restaurant where I ordered a cheese platter and pumpkin gnocchi. We decided to celebrate V-day on Saturday evening and sat down for a Moroccan meal at Galil on Lexington Ave. I ordered the cornish game hen stuffed with apricots, raisons, and dates. It came served on earthy vegetables and couscous. I also had a side of salad (tomatoes and cucumbers) and grilled vegetables. SO much food, but delicious.

We explored the American Museum of Natural History, the Guggenheim, the Brooklyn Flea, ICP, and several gallery art openings in Chelsea. We were given a tour of ICP's school.. which was a state of the art facility! Our lovely guide gave us free tickets into the museum after our tour.

We determined that with the right paying jobs, we could easily live there. Undoubtedly.
