Family and Fairs
This past weekend my parents were in from PA. We went to the Woodland Art Fair on Saturday in Lexington and walked around. It was SOO hot!! Which explains the wet moisture spots on my father's shirt in the above photo. We had a great time looking at the variety of artwork on display in all of the booths. We have always enjoyed looking at art in my family! I can remember going to art fairs when I was in elementary school. Such great times! My Dad came in to be my guest speaker on Friday. He spoke to all of my classes about drawing. He was so much fun to have in my classes! It was funny to watch the expressions on the student's faces when I told them that their guest speaker was my Dad. It was almost like they never thought about me having a Dad before. He is such a great speaker. It took me back to the days when I was his student in art class. He has always been a natural teacher. Hopefully I get some of my talent from him! We had a great time with my parents here. I can still learn so much from them. I thought I would reach a point in my life where I wouldn't need parenting, which may be the case, however, I have not reached a point where I am more wise and thoughtful than my parents are. They are so patient and understanding in situations where I am not. They left on Sunday after church and lunch and I will not see them for awhile now. It's strange how when I was younger, I wanted to be away from them. Now that I am older, I miss them.
