The Way I See It #141

It seems like it gets harder to make good friends, the older you get. I have been thinking a lot lately about how blessed we are to have such good friends here in Lexington, that the idea of moving within the next year seems like it is going to be so difficult. Ironically, Toby and I went with my good friend, Annette, and her husband to Starbucks on Saturday night. Annette loves Starbucks, because her twin sister has worked at one for the last few years. She practically knows their entire drink menu by heart. We sat down with our tea and coffee and played some Yahtzee!! I came home and put my 1/2 full tea cup in the refrigerator. (I am all about getting my money's worth!) When I pulled it out on Sunday to finish drinking it, I read the cup, here is what it said in it's entirety:

The Way I See It # 141

I used to feel so alone in the city.
All those gazillions of people and
then me, on the outside. Because
how do you meet a new person?
I was very stumped by this for many
years. And then I realized, you just
say, "Hi." They may ignore you. Or
you may marry them. And that
possibility is worth that one word.

Well said Augusten, I enjoyed the movie based off of your novel as well.

I don't know if we are for sure moving, yet. I have just started preparing myself for the prospect of a move. It all depends on Toby.
