I have been granted the summer vacation spot decision from Toby. It was a sweet gesture on his part. This all came about because I have been feeling slightly jealous of all of the events that he is going to get to attend this spring. He is going to Dallas, TX for another SPE convention (Society of Photographic Educators) and his brother is coming to visit us at the end of the month and they are going to a UK basketball game. I have never been to Dallas and I could probably go, but I do not feel right taking those days off from teaching. I have never been to a UK basketball game and it is a big deal around here!
Supposedly UK is historically known for their basketball team, even though they have not been that amazing in the past few years. Toby was able to get a deal on tickets from an "inside source" but the source was unable to come up with three. Rather than pay $80 for another ticket that will not be close to their seats, I am going to sit this one out. I am bummed, though. I would still like to partake in the action, ya know? So I was moping around a little last night and Toby made me talk it out... which is when he proposed the offer for me to choose our destination for our summer vaca! Instant mood lift! So I am searching and pondering many different locations. Italy would be a dream come true! Oh the food, the sun, the architecture, the art! Plus, Toby and I are both 25, so we are still able to purchase a student Euro-rail pass... maybe throw Paris into the mix? I am thinking it is now or never... but we will see. I am off to do some researching... if you have any ideas or suggestions.. drop me a line!

paris is so beatiful, i've been twice in the winter & loved it, summer would be even better!
also, have you thought about prague? it's a stunning city, the old prague is fairly small but very charming & packed with history, you could count the number of modern houses! i went there for 4 days last summer and it was amazing, def one of my fav holiday places! :)
Thank you for the advice! Prague is definitely in the top ten list. I watched an Anthony Bourdain episode when he want to Prague and I fell in love with the architecture AND the idea of natural spring spas.. am I right.. are there natural spring spas in Prague? Paris of course made the list as well. This is going to be a tough decision.
