Toby has a grad show opening this weekend and in preparation he needed to buy some frames. Off to Hobby Lobby we went and buy some frames we did, and that's not all! I decided to meander through the art supply section while he was deciding on the perfect frames for his photographs. I stumbled upon these really neat handmade watercolor books. There was only one of the larger ones left and I could not pass it up! I bought myself some cheap brushes to boot and headed back home to work in my new sketch book.
The book is beautiful. I feel inspired when I look at it and when I open it! It is almost like my very own, worn-in, vintage art, coffee table sketch book. (Wordy? Yes.) I pulled out some Vogues and chose some of my favorite ensembles. I then did some sketches and went to work with my newly, dustless watercolors. How fun is it when simple, yet remarkable little finds can inspire the creative soul within us? I will have some images up soon of the little doodle paintings I am making.
