I painted this rock in my high school art class. I just saw it sitting on a shelf in our guest room the other day and thought about how cost efficient it was for my art teacher to have us paint rocks! I didn't think about that sort of thing when he assigned the project. To me, it was frustrating trying to figure out how to paint these fine details on this unfamiliar surface. I loved painting it and now that I am an art teacher myself, I realize how I could have my classes do something similar, because it would sure not break the budget to paint rocks! It would make a great paperweight, but right now it is just a little knickknack on our shelf.
