Are all children from Mars?

Toby and I just finished watching Martian Child starring John Cusack. It was such a quirky, smart, and darling movie. I highly encourage the film to anyone who is in need of a little warming of the heart. The story is about a man who adopts a child that truly believes he is from Mars. At the end of the movie, John's character says something like, "We tend to forget that all children have just arrived here on earth." It gave me a little something to think about in the way of birth and the arrival of little humans into our lives.

Toby and I were discussing abortion today as well, how ironic? Toby said something that made me laugh and love him all the more. He said that if a woman wants to have an abortion to "fix" the problem growing inside her womb, then why don't they just kill themselves. Why kill just the baby, because the woman is as much at fault, if not more so the "problem" than the innocent life growing inside of her. As awful as it was to say, there is a lot of truth to the statement, though.

Isn't it strange how different people are from one another? It is strange how those differences can lead to pure hate. Some people find no harm or wrong in abortion, others believe it to be the same as murder. It is these differences in opinions that drive people apart and completely remove the ability to understand or communicate with one another. How are we supposed to agree to disagree when our minds and hearts are so wrapped around the morals of one thing that do not bear significance on others we come into contact with?

Is it possible that everyone, in their own way is a Martian from birth... and we are all just trying to find a way back home... where we can all relate and live in peace?

From what I'm told, I was conceived as part of an experiment gone wrong... I was cultured in a petri dish and mixed with the DNA of a Meerkat, a Gaboon Viper, and Conway Twitty. The Twitty estate will not respond to my letters, and I am terminally sad...also, I eat lots of peanut butter!
